Bring in the file you wrote. Leave with the ebook, the cover, and a page people can read it on — and the print files with Press.
See the demo — the workspace, and a finished book →Your book, finished and online.
Everything in Digital, taken to paper.
Nothing renews and nothing is charged by the month. Your plan opens on your account as soon as the payment confirms. The AI parts run on credits, no plan includes an ISBN, and every file you make is yours to sell wherever you like.
One place for the whole book. Everything you need is a tab away, and your words stay where you left them.
She cooked the way her mother had, which is to say without a single measurement written down. A handful of this. Enough of that. You will know when it is right1. It took me eleven years and one bad winter to understand that this was not vagueness. It was trust.
“You will know when it is right” is the whole chapter in seven words. Put it on the back cover.
Two ways in, and neither asks for an account. Walk through the workspace an author works in, step by step — or open a finished book in the very reader your own book gets, switch between all four reading layouts, and read it to the end.
You bring the writing. bookmatic does the parts that used to need a publisher.
Drop in your Word file and it becomes a book — chapters, footnotes and pictures and all. EPUB, RTF, ODT, HTML and Markdown come in too — even a PDF or a Google Drive link, though a PDF is the last resort and may need cleanup after. You do this once, and everything after it works on the same words.
Paper shows facing pages at the size yours prints. Reflowable shows the ebook, where the text flows to fit any screen. Switch whenever you like — same words either way.
One button lays out your pages: the size, the paper, the fonts, the margins. Keep what it picks or change any of it.
Design the cover on the real template your printer uses, so the spine comes out exactly as thick as your book. Front, spine and back, or just the ebook cover.
An EPUB for the ebook and a print-ready PDF for the paper one. Download them and take them anywhere — no lock-in, nothing to ask us for.
PDF is PressA page of its own, hosted for you, in four reading layouts. Show as much or as little free as you want, and update the live page with one button. Book pages are kept out of search engines — you hand out the link yourself.
Your best lines turned into pictures you can post, the most quotable lines found for you, drafts for social media, and the text for the back of your book.
Decide what readers get free and what they pay for, chapter by chapter, and set the price of each edition. Both save and show on your page. Taking money on that page is switched off, so nothing sells there today.
Reader payments are offA few things cost us real money every time they run — the translations, the editor notes, the marketing drafts. Those spend credits. A new account starts with 100 free credits, and a plan keeps you topped up to what it includes: 50 with Digital, 100 with Press. You only buy more if you run them down.
Credits never expire while your account is open. What a thing costs is shown before it runs. On the features we meter you are never charged more than the estimate — if it costs less, the difference comes back; translation is a flat 1,000 credits per language, fixed whatever the length of the book. One thing to know before you buy: to keep card fraud off the platform, credits bought above a starting allowance become spendable ten days after purchase, and the app always shows what you can spend right now.
The founding cohort is the first seven people to take a seat — each one carrying a real manuscript through bookmatic while it is being built. They pay half, and in return they tell us what is broken before anyone else has to meet it.
It is closed, and we are sorry. The seats went before we opened them properly, and the seven are underway. If you came here for one, there isn't one to give you.
bookmatic opens to everyone once the cohort has taken their books all the way through. Until then the demo above is the honest picture of the product. Leave your address and you get one email the day the next cohort opens — not a newsletter.
Or follow @Bookmatic_ on X →Founding seats were half the list price. That rate closed with the cohort; the prices above are the ones that open to the public.
Not from the files. You pay for the software once, per book — the ebook, the print files and the cover are yours, and you can sell them anywhere with nothing further to pay us.
The book page bookmatic hosts for you is the one exception, and today it cannot take money at all: reader payments are switched off. You can still set your price and choose which chapters are free, and those settings save and show on your page.
Where reader payments are on, bookmatic publishes and sells that edition itself — the checkout, the tax, the delivery and the refunds are ours to carry — and pays you a royalty on every settled sale. How that works, and how the rate is set and shown to you, is written out in our Terms.
No. bookmatic picks the page size, the fonts and the margins for you, and builds the cover on the template your printer needs. You can change anything, but you never have to.
Yes — one Digital or Press payment covers one book, and nothing renews. The AI parts spend credits, which you buy separately and only if you use them. Anything else we sell is priced in the app, in front of you, before you agree to it.
Anywhere. The EPUB and the print PDF are standard files with no lock-in — any shop, any printer, any platform you choose.
Yes. Your draft is invite-only: only the people you invite can open it, with the link you send them. Nothing is public until you publish.
Published book pages stay out of search engines too — you hand out the link yourself. Someone at bookmatic reads your first published page before it opens to the public; after that, your books go live straight away.
Read the refund policy — it says plainly what can be refunded and what cannot, and why credits are the exception.
